RE: Transportation Updates

We are excited to announce that Saint Joseph’s will begin to offer an internal transportation service for students through TripShot beginning on March 1, 2024. The University has hired dedicated transportation drivers to make this service possible for our community.

Previously, Penn Transit provided transportation to our University City students around West Philadelphia and Center City. Beginning on March 1, University community members will no longer be able to utilize the PennTransit application as we move to providing an improved, streamlined experience through TripShot.

Rest assured, Saint Joseph’s is dedicated to providing transportation to our University City students. Any students formerly utilizing the Penn Transit system will now be able to access the area through our new services in and around the University of Pennsylvania and the local community surrounding the University City location between 5 p.m. and midnight, Monday through Friday, by requesting a ride through the TripShot application. The application can be downloaded on your smartphone through Apple or Google Play.

As a reminder, to all students, walking escorts are available from the UCity location within the immediate surrounding community. These walking services are enhanced by the University’s membership of the University City District, meaning that students can request a coordinated walking escort from our UCity location directly to their desired destination within University City.

Please remember, students can contact Public Safety at 610-660-1111. All students should also download the SJUSafe app from the app store to take full advantage of the University’s safety resources and alerts.
